Antique Inspiration to Gild using Gold Leaf

Antiques are a great place to look when finding ideas about how you want to rescue your furniture. I always am drawn to old antique shops and beautiful antique furniture that has been painted and/or been accented with gold leaf. I have chosen a few pieces today that are gilded and would love to share how simply you can gild your own furniture pieces using the Amy Howard At Home Bole, Gilding Size, and Gold Leaf.

Inspiration:
Gio Ponti Vase
This antique vase is from Italy in the 1930s
This piece is on sale for $12,000
Now you could use the One Step Paint in Black to paint over a piece
then tape off the sections you would like to gold leaf
simply paint on the Bole, Gilding Size, place on your Gold Leaf, and Buff

French 19th Century Louis XV Style Ebonized Fruitwood and Giltwood Center Table
This table is from France in the style of Louis XV dating back to the 19th Century
This piece is on sale for $59,500
Now again you could use the One Step Paint in Black to paint over a piece
then tape off the accents that you would like to gold leaf
Paint on the Bole, Gilding Size, place on your Gold Leaf, and Buff

Gilt Iron Mirrored Back Sconces with Bird and Foliage Motif
These Mid-Century Modern sconces are from Italy with beautiful details
The pair is on sale for $5,250
For these pieces, you could use the Gilding Supplies as well as the Antique Mirror Kit
I would suggest gilding the pieces and then antique your piece of mirror
You could then cut the antique your mirror piece and place it to fit
