Featured Retailer: Paper Street Market

I am happy to share with you this week our Featured Retailer, Paper Street Market. The store is located in Saint Petersburg, Florida. As said on their website, "Paper Street Market is St. Petersburg's best vintage shop! We specialize in antiques for a new generation, and we have a great selection of antique medical, vintage industrial, re-purposed, and eclectic furniture, jewelry, and home accessories."

Amy: What made you decide to start your own business?   

Celesta: Sean and I had such a wonderful time scouting for furniture and accessories for our own home, that we did not want to stop!  We began selling out of a space in an antique mall, and then we had multiple spaces in multiple places.  We eventually realized that if we wanted to have a name and a brand for ourselves that we would have to go out on our own, and Paper Street Market was born.

A: What is your company motto?  

C: We want to have a shop, not a museum.  We pride ourselves on our price points and on our ever-changing inventory selection.

A: What do you love about having a store?  

C: The ability to help people find that one special piece they are looking for.  It is so much fun to see someone get excited about purchasing a piece of furniture that works perfectly for their space.

A: What is your favorite AHAH product? Color?  

C: We are big fans of the one-step paint.  We love the muted colors and the ability to utilize it in so many different ways.  I am naturally drawn to the French Blue color- I would paint pretty much anything in French Blue.

A: What sets you apart for other stores in your area?  

C: We tend to cater to the 'new age vintage' crowd, and consider ourselves a more hip version of a traditional antique shop.  We infuse a lot of vintage industrial and also rustic and reclaimed wood pieces into the mix, along with painted furniture and unique accessories you won't find everywhere else.  Everything we bring into the shop is hand-selected.

A: I cannot live without my...

C: Hot Tea.  Selecting and steeping loose-leaf tea is part of my daily routine and allows for a few moments of tranquility on hectic days. 

A: What is your favorite season?  

C: Springtime, because it represents fresh new opportunity and change.
