I am excited to share with you our featured retailer this week, Hill House Interiors. Claire from Hill House Interiors offers design services to clients in Macon, Georgia and surrounding areas, including metro Atlanta. They specialize in interior design and all things design related.
Currently, Claire sells the At Home products at Scott's Antique Market in Atlanta the 2nd weekend of each month(Thursday through Sunday) and at Westside Market in the trendy West End district of Atlanta.
At Scotts there are about 3500 dealers who come as well as shoppers from all over the country. "I see many of the millions of pieces of discarded furniture show up among the dealers. The fit is just perfect for Rescue. Restore. Redecorate. The response to the paints, lacquers zinc solution and mirror antiquing solution has been phenomenal. When people see the finished product, they understand why it is different. I tell them, "We aren't just painting old furniture, we are giving it a new finish " and they completely agree. I think it is very important to point out that these are finishing products, and not just paint, which preserves or even heightens the integrity of the piece."
Westside market is in the trendy West End of Atlanta. The area is teeming with interior options. "My booth there houses the products so that shoppers from Atlanta can access the products between markets. It is a great booth market with a great collection of merchants. I will host workshops and will offer some classes."
Claire shared with me, "I love brainstorming with people about how they can use the products. When the trusty gallon size zip log bag stuffed with fabric swatches, paint cards and photos come out I get so excited. As a designer, I have spent my career making choices for people and helping them get the most out of what they have. Many of my clients simply defer to me, so working with the DIY person has been a lot of fun. Last month a mother came by my booth who was working on her young daughter's room. She wanted to paint the headboard and custom made barn door closet doors. She chose Cartouche Green for the doors and the Jazz it Up Pearl for a wicker headboard. Paired with the celadon and chartreuse print pillows she had found, her work was done. What satisfaction! I also had a husband and wife stop by to choose a color to paint a bar top he was going to build for their recreation room. I thought how handsome it would with a zinc top and a base using the cracked patina with Bauhaus and Selznick. They never imagined they could achieve such a look on their own. So rich and custom."
I love to hear about how creative my retailers are with the use of the products and how much they love to share and help others rescue, restore, and redecorate!
