One Step Color Inspiration

Color is an essential part of our lives and environments -- yet it is often overlooked or taken for granted.  Lilly Pulitzer said, “I am a believer that color affects people’s moods.” Lilly may have made this observation off hand -- but more and more research indicates that color does have the power to augment our emotional environment.  Color is often correlated to our sense of space and emotion.  We use color to describe our emotions: seeing red, feeling blue, green with envy -- there is no denying that color and mood are inextricably linked.  As a result, color is an essential part of our design and decorating aesthetic.  It alone has the ability to create an atmosphere or mood in a room and to infuse feeling into that space.  I want to encourage you to play with color -- to add a smattering of it to your space.  Color psychology suggests that our preferences for color and the moods that it is capable of soliciting are unique to each of us.  Today, I want to introduce you to some new color palettes -- and inspire you to use color as subtly or as gregariously -- as your mood deems fit.
